Hello, I am Mariel Abamo. Sometimes I wish I am Obama’s long-lost daughter.
I am a Digital Marketer from the Philippines. I specialize in setting up new businesses from scratch and drive them traffic and sales online. I like bringing results to websites that are new, struggling, or are not familiar on how SEO can help their business (but is interested). It is a long-term strategy that nets long-term results if done properly.
I’ve handled new and existing brands, I understand the pain points and strengths that businesses can focus on. I have over 10 years of experience in the Digital Marketing field where I’ve managed various clients and been a part of companies as a full-time digital marketer, mostly focusing on SEO and content. I’ve worked with businesses in the pharmaceutical, FMCG, IT, local retail, e-commerce, PR, life coaching, online gaming, sports betting, education, blogging, consulting, healthcare, and small niche sites. I’ve worn many hats over the years and familiar with how each platform fit the bigger picture.
I was a Digital Marketing Manager for over 3 years handling a team of digital marketing professionals that consists of SEO specialists, link builders, writers, digital marketing specialists, etc. I handled most aspects of SEO and worn many hats. From social media marketing to email marketing, and from brand management to content marketing. Literally everything just to get those sparkling conversions. I did the full stack which I understand is essential for a leadership role. But during COVID, I realized that I wanted to do most things my way and be more in control on certain areas. I am currently focusing on SEO and is particularly deep into LLMs and automation and how it’s changing the game for most, if not all, of us.
One thing I’ll always be upfront about: SEO is a long game. That’s still true even in the age of AI. You might see early wins, but the real value compounds over time with consistency and the right strategy. If someone promises you overnight rankings, run. We can’t control Google’s decisions, we can only build something solid enough to stay relevant no matter what they change (ranking factors).
Outside work I have 3 dogs who run the house, I play games like Elden Ring, Rimworld, or Elder Scrolls Online (don’t ask my playtime hours). Trying a lot of hobbies is my hobby, I guess? I’ve dabbled into 3d printing, drawing, woodworking, yarn tufting, making custom watches, making custom accessories, blogging, chainstitching, taekwondo, punch needling, sewing, selling hats, and more. I got it from my mom, granted she is retired, but still… Trying new things is fun!
